Resources
If your ancestors lived in Glamorgan then we have a vast array of resources to help you trace them. With the industrialization of centres like Swansea, Merthyr, Cardiff and the valleys from the mid-18th century onwards individual families moved frequently from place to place in search of work. Coupled with the use of common surnames such as Jones, Davies and Williams searching for your ancestor can be difficult. By using our county-wide indexes, transcriptions and local knowledge it is possible to narrow down the number of probable individuals as well as discovering information about the social history of the area where they lived, worked and died.
