 Online newspaper collections are a growing resource for family historians. They now cover the period from the mid-1700s to the 1960s.

This session will cover:

• the type of information that can be found in newspapers online;

• tips for researching ancestors - especially with common surnames;

• the importance of searching for places not just people;

• examples of online newspaper collections (free and subscription);

• some previously unknown family stories found in online newspapers – Well I didn’t know that!
