Membership Subscriptions
NEW MEMBERS
Our membership year commences on 1 April.
However if you join/renew part way through the year we adjust your membership to commence on the month you join, ie 1 January, 1 February etc.
You will receive your first journal the quarter after you join ie March, June, September and July. All previous journals are available on the website.
UK POSTAL ADDRESSES: Please note when completing your address the Post Office now requires the correct POSTAL TOWN/CITY to be used. Please check the Address Finder on the Post Office website for your correct address and Post Code. The Post Office do not require a county as part of your address. Post Office Address Finder
Different Payment Options
- The easiest way to join is to pay online via this website: Select the appropriate UK or Overseas subscription plan below. Follow the instructions to pay via Pay Pal or credit/debit card. Please Note - the Pay Pal option allows you to pay via Debit or Credit Card on the Pay Pal website - you do not need a Pay Pal Account. When renewing membership you will need to log in first, otherwise a new membership number will be generated. If you have lapsed your membership will recommence from the quarter you rejoin (as above).
- Pay online via Genfair - Annual Membership ONLY.
- Download a membership form and send a cheque made payable to Glamorgan Family History Society to our Membership Team.
- Pay by cash or cheque at Aberkenfig Resource Centre or a branch meeting - Uk Sterling cheques only.
- Standing Order - your membership number must be quoted with the directions given to your bank - so this option is NOT available to new members. Contact our membership team for details of how to set up a standing order.

If you pay via Option 1 above your membership will be processed automatically and you will receive immediate access to the website.
If you join via one of the other methods your membership will need to be processed by our Membership Team before you can gain access to the Members Only Area. This may take a few days especially at weekends.
How to Renew?
- In order to renew your membership automatically you must be logged in! Otherwise the system will issue you with a new membership number.

If you do not wish to use Pay/Pal or your debit/credit card to renew you can do so by one of the methods listed above under 'Different Payment Methods'.

PLEASE NOTE
- The expiry date for your current subscription is shown on your journal label and in your website account details.
- Renewal forms are included in the December and March journals each year.
- A renewal reminder will be sent letting you know when your online account expires.
- If your membership has lapsed your membership will recommence from the quarter you rejoin and your expiry date will be adjusted to one year from that date.

UK Members receive quarterly journals published in March, June, September and December. Access to resources in the Members Only Area of the website will be available following confirmation of receipt of payment.
Please note any new members joining or renewing between 1 March and 1 April will have their expiry date adjusted to the appropriate subscription year.
GIFT AID
If you wish us to Gift Aid your payment please put a tick in the box on the form when completing your details to confirm that you are a UK tax payer and accept the following conditions:
Please treat as Gift Aid donations all qualifying gifts of money made from the date of this declaration and in the last four years.
I confirm that I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year (6th April to 5th April) it is my responsibility to pay any difference.
I understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify.
I understand the charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.
