Looking forward to the release of the 1921 census? Do you have a research plan ready?
About this event
Join genealogist Jenni Phillips as she looks ahead to the release of the 1921 census next year. An event keenly awaited by genealogists and historians, it will provide a snapshot of our ancestors’ lives in the aftermath of the First World War, at a time of economic uncertainty and industrial unrest. After looking at the 1921 census in its historic context, this talk will examine the data that’s already available, with a particular focus on Glamorgan, and discuss how this might be reflected in individual household schedules.
The questions posed to our ancestors in this census will also be considered. How and why had questions changed? What clues might newly introduced questions provide us with? How can we plan a research strategy for the census ahead of its release?
